Charles III gold 8 Escudos 1762 PN-J XF40 NGC, Popayan mint, KM38.2, Cal-116, Restrepo-70.5. An early transitional date still bearing the bust of Ferdinand VI, and one which by all indications appears to be much scarcer than both Calico and the Standard Catalog of World Coins suggest--only three examples have been certified by NGC to-date of which we have offered two previously. Admittedly rubbed in the centers with sharper peripheral detail, and a difficult piece to locate in all grades.
