Danish Colony. Frederick VII Fantasy Counterstamped 960 Reis ND (1850) AU50 NGC, KM-X32.1. Displaying crowned FR VII countermark on a Brazilian João Prince Regent 960 Reis 1817-R (cf. KM307). Overstruck on a Spanish colonial Pillar 8 Reales of Charles IV. Highly collectible as a curiosity type, with the counterstamps of the Danish West Indies only really considered to be genuine on contemporary US Seated Liberty half dollars. Nevertheless, the first of this host we have seen, and likely quite rare as such.
