Republic Peso 1952 MS67 NGC, KM22. Mintage: 20,000. A date which typically comes as rather unremarkable even in gem preservation, a quick survey of the certified population reporting over 300 coins graded between NGC and PCGS, and all of those firmly bracketed in Mint State. Yet as one examines the results more closely, a distinctive trend emerges, with the nearly one hundred gem-graded specimens dropping off to fewer than 15 in MS66, and only one other representative tied in this MS67 state. As such the current offering, appearing quite nearly immaculate, stands as an incredible conditional rarity and numismatic survivor.
