Bavaria. Ludwig I "Monument" Taler 1834 MS65★ Prooflike NGC, Munich mint, KM406 (unlisted in Proof), Dav-572, Thun-64. Struck to commemorate the construction of the Monument at Oberwittelsbach. A piece which at the very least can be said to be thoroughly impressive, the fields positively brimming with mirrorlike reflectivity and catching glints of blue, caramel, and violet color at the legends. To date, no Proof grades have been awarded for the type at NGC, and we would note that the D. Moore specimen, the single finest certified, certified as an MS66+ from NGC.
