Herford. Anna von Limburg (1520-1565) Taler 1552 AU50 NGC, Dav-9264, Schulten-1180. A rare type produced during the period of independent minting by the abbey's abbess, and one of fewer than 10 examples we have been able to locate becoming available in recent years. The reverse carries a citation from Revelation 5:5, translating to "The Lion of the Tribe of Judah prevails."
