Prussia. Wilhelm II gold Proof 10 Mark 1905-A PR65 Cameo NGC, Berlin mint, KM520, D&S-340, J-249. Mintage: 117. A well-known rarity within the post-unification German series, instantly standing out not only for its extremely low mintage figure (one of the few recorded for the type) and the utter paucity of certified examples--to-date, only 4 examples of this Proof date have been certified, of which the present is only the second piece to be given a Cameo designation. We have offered just one other example, a PR66 Cameo which brought $4,080 in our January 2018 NYINC sale.
