Great Britain
George III gold 1/4 Guinea 1762 MS64 NGC, KM592, S-3741. Only the second year that this fractional gold guinea coinage was produced, a consequence of the overvaluation of gold in 18th century Britain, leading it to be the sole metal that remained domestically while silver and copper were shipped abroad--a fact often resulting in heavy circulation for the surviving examples. As such, pieces approaching gem certification are comparatively quite rare.
