Ranavalona III silver Pattern 5 Francs 1883 MS61 NGC, KM-X2, Dav-67, VG-Unl., Lec-20. Type III - listed as Reeded edge (though edge cannot be seen in holder) with small lettering. A truly peculiar and by all indications extremely rare pattern, which, while given a relatively modest catalog value by Lecompte, exists as the sole example in silver that we have been able to locate. Though designated as KM-X3 on the holder, we note that this is actually the small lettering type with stars in the obverse legend.
