Durango. Revolutionary "Muera Huerta" Peso 1914 MS61 NGC, KM621. Variety without stars and with continuous border on both sides. A Revolutionary issue with great historical importance; reportedly the punishment for being caught with this coin, which advocated death to General Huerta, was execution. Difficult in any Mint State condition, the present example displaying antique gunmetal tone over softly lustrous surfaces. Evidently struck near the final stages of the dies, judging by the bevy of deep die cracks running across each face.
