Description:A six-ducat-size gold medal from the Martin Coles Harman collection. It was minted to commemorate the rebuilding of Hohenzollern Castle by Hohenzollern scion Crown-Prince Frederick William IV of Prussia, who espoused Romanticism toward the medieval times. The Castle is located in the region of Swabia where the lineage of his ancestors had its root. In the rebuilding, William adopted the Neo-Gothic style which was just becoming fashionable in Italy.
