Lot of two silver "plata corriente" pieces, 54.81 grams total, no markings, each about the weight of an 8 reales, cut from "splash" ingots, ex-Jones (Plate Piece).Each about 1-1/2" x 3/4" x 1/4".Two rather rough cuts (one an edge-piece, the other interior) from a "splash" ingot, both fairly rectangular but probably meant to circulate as 8 reales, any markings formerly present now lost to corrosion.Pedigreed to the Dr. Peter Jones collection, plated on page 30 of his book The First Coins of the Americas (2020), and our Auction 4 (lot #152).Recovered from: Non-Wreck
