PHOENICIA, Tripolis. 2nd century BC. Æ (20.5mm, 8.51 g, 12h). Dually dated SE 325 and RY 44 of Augustus (AD 13/4). Jugate laureate male busts right, drapery around their necks / Nike, holding wreath and palm, standing right on prow right; LM[Δ] (RY date) above prow, [TKЄ (SE date) below]. BMC 34–6; RPC I 4515. Brown surfaces, off center on reverse. VF.

From the TAB Collection.

The portraits on the obverse are described as the Dioskouri in RPC, likely based on their appearance on a number of earlier issues at Tripolis. Others, however, question the identification, as the portraits lack the canonical stars surmounting each bust when the Dioskouri are intended.
