NORMAN. William I 'the Conqueror'. 1066-1087. AR Penny (18mm, 1.25 g, 12h). Two Scepters type (BMC iv). Lincoln mint; Ulfr, moneyer. Struck circa 1072-1074. Crowned facing bust; cross-tipped scepter to left, trefoil-tipped scepter to right / + VLF ON LINCOLN, cross fleurée, with annulet at center; all over cross botonnée in saltire. Mossop pl. LXXXII, 6 (dies A/a)BMC 246 (same dies); North 844; SCBC 1253. Toned, areas of weak strike. Near VF.
