NORMAN. Henry I. 1100-1135. AR Penny (19mm, 1.25 g, 10h). Star in Lozenge Fleury type (BMC xiii). Bury St. Edmunds mint; Godric, moneyer. Struck circa 1121. Crowned bust left, holding scepter / + GODRIC ON [S EDM], lozenge with incurved sides; star at center, fleur at each end, and trefoil of annulets in each quarter. Eaglen, Bury St. Edmunds 10.3 (dies A/a; this coin); BMC –; North 869; SCBC 1274. Lightly toned, porous, weak strike on reverse. Good Fine. Attractive portrait. Rare.
