NORMAN, Civil War. Local/Irregular issues. Circa 1138-1153. AR Penny (17mm, 0.98 g). Watford type variety, 'Midland and South-Western group' (BMC i [var.]/Mack A). Uncertain (Oxford?) mint; Hubert(?) moneyer. Crowned bust left; rosette to left / + H[VBER?]T O[N...], cross potent, with pellet-in-annulet at center and mullet in each quarter. EMC 2002.0222 (this coin); Mack 182; North 887/1; SCBC 1293. Find patina, edge chip, areas of weak strike. Near Fine. Very rare.
