Kingdom of Macedonia - Antigonos Gonatas (277-239 BC) - AV Stater (Pella c. 272 BC, 8.61 g) - Head of Athena right, wearing Corinthian helmet decorated with coiled snake / BAΣIΛEΩΣ ANTIΓONOY Victoria standing left holding stylis and aplustre, wreath in left field (AMNG III, 1-2 and pl. 32, 21 / De Luynes 1689 / ANSMN 26, 1981, pl. 21, 35) - obv. bit excentric, a.XF, one of the best grades we have seen. An extremely rare coin of historical importance, less than 10 specimens recorded (see NAC 116, 80, 32,000 CHF / CNG 100, 57, 12,000 USD / Spink 344, 8, 32.000 USD), most of them in museum collections.
