The Indo-Greek Kingdom of Baktria - Early Bactria, Pre-Seleukid Era, Imitation Athenian 'Owls', ca. 4th cent. - 305 BC., AR tetradrachm ( 11.44, 14.72 g.), most likely struck on the Attic weight standard of c.16.96 g. Head of Athena in Attic helmet r. / ΑꙨЕ. Owl standing r., head facing. Olive sprig and crescent to l. Uncertain mint in the Oxus region. Very rare. General feature gVF, but show a black patina, lighter in weight and brittle on the edges. The provenance of the coins with these features can be traced back to the Mir Zakah II hoard. Lot of 2 coins.
