Iovinus (411-413) - AR Siliqua (Arelate AD 411-413, 1.26 g) - DN IOVINVS PF AVG Pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right / VICTORIA AVGG Roma seated left on curule chair, holding Victoria on globe and reverted spear (KONT in ex.) (RIC 1721 / King, Melanges Bastien, pl. 22, 9) - very rare, VF. Iovinus was an usurpator, who was proclaimed emperor in 411 AD by the king of the Alanen, Goar, and the king of the Burgunder, Gundahar, in Mundiacum (Muntzen). He was defeated and captured in AD 413 by the Westgoths, king Athaulf, after which Honorius executed him.
