QUEEN'S SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL 1899, (type 3 reverse), - three clasps - Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal. 22275 Tpr: G.D.Walker. C. in C. Bodyguard. Impressed. Some surface marks and edge bumps, otherwise very fine.

22275 Trooper George Durant Walker confirmed on nominal roll of Commander-in-Chief's Bodyguard and Johannesburg Mounted Rifles. Joined C-in-C's Bodyguard 26Nov1900 and then transferred to Johannesburg Mounted Rifles (JMR) 16Jul1901 until Disch.28Nov1901 Time Expired.

Medal roll for C-in-C's Bodyguard confirms medal and clasp entitlement and the roll for JMR shows an entitlement to clasp South Africa 1901.

With copies of relevant medal roll pages and another for Damant's Horse showing another G.D.Walker but not the above.
