Marc Antony and M. Lepidus AR Denarius. Gallic mint, 43-42 BC. Lituus, jug and raven; M•ANTON•IMP above / Simpulum, aspergillum, axe and apex; M•LEPID•IMP around. Crawford 489/2; CRI 119a; RSC 2. 3.77g, 18mm, 7h.

Near Extremely Fine. Very Rare; this denarius type is very much rarer than the quinarius of the same design and is missing from most collections. Although hardly in great condition, it's notable that this is the best example of the type that Leo Benz and Andrew McCabe have been able to find.

From the Andrew McCabe Collection, collector's ticket included; Ex JD Collection, Numismatica Ars Classica AG, Auction 78, 26 May 2014, lot 489; Ex Leo Benz Collection, Numismatik Lanz München, Auction 88, 23 November 1998, lot 824; Ex Ars et Nummus, FPL, December 1968, no. 223.
