Marion Harry Alexander Spielmann (1858–1948) was an art critic, scholar and author, and variously editor of The Connoisseur and the Magazine of Art. He was also a patron of Frank Bowcher, from whom he commissioned a number of medals (cf. L. Forrer, BDM VII, pp. 106-109). His brother, Sir Isidore Spielmann (1854–1925), a civil-engineer turned art-connoisseur, who was knighted in 1905, compiled the "Souvenir of the Fine Art Section Franco-British Exhibition 1908". The second medal is understood to be connected to Marion Spielmann.
