The three-masted, teak-built Foochow Chinese trading junk Keying left Hong Kong on the 6th December 1846, piloted by Master Mariner Charles Alfred Kellett (born 1818) and arrived in England on the 27th March 1848 (by way of St. Helena, New York, Boston and Jersey), the first known junk to both round Cape Horn and to enter British waters.
