Ti. Veturius. 137 BC. AR Denarius (19mm, 3.83 g, 4h). Rome mint. Helmeted and draped bust of Mars right; X (mark of value) to left between end of crest and back of neck / Oath-taking scene: youth kneeling left, head right, between two soldiers, each of whom holds a spear and sword that touches a pig held by the youth. Crawford 234/1; Sydenham 527; Veturia 1; RBW 969. A hint of toning, a few light marks and scratches, a couple minor metal flaws. Good VF.
