Abbasid, al-Rashid (170-193h), Dirham, Madinat al-Salam 180h, with the name of his father al-Mahdi, (Lowick 1307 var. [different annulet pattern]; A -). Very fine and Extremely rare. This reverse type, with the bottom two lines of the reverse legend reading al-khalifa al-mahdi / harun, is not one which was used during the reign of al-Mahdi, suggesting that this coin is not a mule.
