As one of China's most iconic banknotes, this large size 10 Yuan of 1953 is on or near the top of every serious, relevant wish list. This was the highest denomination of the reformed series and had serious purchasing power. Although dated 1953, this high denomination was not issued until 1957 and was redeemed in 1964. Any extant example is a treasure, as only a scant few survived. Only mild circulation is seen on this handsome example, which appears to show pleasing originality.
