Any monetary instrument from the 1901 series of HSBC banknotes is a treasure today, as so few remain extant. This large format Specimen is bright and clean, with vivid inking and wide margins. At the time of cataloging, this is the finest example offered in public auction, bettering the only other two that have sold. A perforated cancellation is in lieu of a manuscript signature. Additionally, this is the single finest graded example in the PMG Population Report, of only three Specimen submitted.
