Hong Kong Mercantile Bank Limited 100 Dollars 20.9.1960 Pick 242b KNB18d-e PMG About Uncirculated 55. This fantastic and rare note features the second to the final date for this long running design. For all dates from 1958 to 1960, bank records indicate that only 5,000 notes were issued per date, which was far fewer than contemporary issues from HSBC and the Chartered Bank. Through the third party holder, it appears that two cross folds are present, along with lightened ink. We have not offered this date in the past, and we have only offered one Pick 242b, which was graded PMG Very Fine 25 and netted $3,480 in 2019. At the time of cataloging, no examples grade finer in the PMG Population Report for both 1960 dates.
