Malaya Board of Commissioners of Currency 10 Dollars 1.1.1940 Pick 1 KNB5a PMG About Uncirculated 53. The 1940 $10, printed in purple tones, arrived safely to the British colonies in Malaya, and subsequently entered circulation in 1941. However, these notes were hastily withdrawn later that year as the Japanese invaded the Peninsula. After the British regained control of their colonies, a new series of banknotes was issued, nulling the pre-war types. This example, featuring only brief circulation and a few pinholes, is much, much better than typical. Amazing original colors add desirability to an already collectible type.
