(g) PF69 ULTRA CAMEO | Elizabeth II (1952-), Proof Five-Pounds, 1985, third portrait, by Raphael Maklouf, edge milled, 40.01g, 1h (S.SE3), brilliant uncirculated, in NGC holder, graded PF69 ULTRA CAMEO (Cert. #5878609-006) [Tied 1 of 80 / 29 Finer].
The Maklouf definitive was used for Currency, Bullion and Proof strikings from 1985 to 1997 inclusive. Unusually a variant of his portrait with more of Queen's neckline was used exclusively for Five Pound coin strikings in 1987 and 1988, before a return to this familiar definitive in 1990.
