Khai Dinh Medallic 7 Tien ND (1916-1925) MS62 NGC, KM-XM1.1, S&H-4.1.2.1 (7.2 Tien). An incredibly handsome rendition of this scarcer medallic type, expressing a distinctive depth to the features that so often seems to be lacking from Khai Dinh's coinage, which usually appears flat and slightly cartoonish. Here the surfaces are lavishly patinated in gunmetal color, revealing ample luster, and pairing nicely with the sharp silvery finish of the devices. One of just two certified at NGC, and the finer of the two.
