Sisowath I gold Matte Specimen "Funeral" Medal 1928 SP61 PCGS, Lec-134b (Very Rare), Gad-24 var. (listed only in silver, and not in matte format). 23mm. 7.23gm. By P. Lenoir. An intriguing and very rare discovery piece, this smallest funerary medal of Sisowath I formally only being known in silver. First documented in the 2014 edition of Lecompte's Monnaies et Jetons de l'Indochine Française (the variety number on the holder refers to an earlier edition), he simply notes it as being 'very rare' without a catalog value. Certainly an item of great interest to collectors of the French colonial numismatica.
