Qing Dynasty. Yunnan Sanchuo Jieding ("Three-Stamp Remittance") "Packsaddle" Sycee of 5 Taels ND (19th-20th Century) UNC, cf. Cribb-LXVI.I.983-984 (different weights and assay stamps), Assay Mark E1 (left) and E3 (right). 57x38mm. 183.36gm. Cast at Luotongyuan Bank, inspected by assayers Tong and Zhou. Each of the three main stamps reads: "Luo Tong Yuan Hao Hui Hao Wen Yin" (Luotongyuan Bank, remittance bank fine silver), left assay stamp reads: "Guan Gong Gu Tong Kan" (Inspected by official public assayer Tong), and right assay stamp reads: "Guan Gong Gu Zhou Kan" (Inspected by official public assayer Zhou). Attractively preserved with slate gray surfaces and an appealing iridescent tone to each of the three main stamps.
