Kwangtung. Kuang-hsü Dollar ND (1890-1908) MS63 NGC, Kwangtung mint, KM-Y203, L&M-133, Kann-26. Struck from Heaton dies. A lofty state for this "new" dragon design that emerged out of the public outcry against the juxtaposition of English and Chinese text on the earlier 1889 issues, and a level that can safely be confirmed as towards the upper range of 'attainable' quality, the population report at NGC recorded a bottleneck of examples ranking much finer. While showcasing a heavy cartwheel effect over the surfaces, a clear watery finish is still detectable, providing an added air of quality and choice preservation.
