Kwangtung. Kuang-hsü Fantasy Tael ND (1904) UNC Details (Cleaned) NGC, KM-X Unl. (cf. KM-X15 for 1/2 Tael), Kann-F932, WS-Unl. (cf. WS-1349-21 for 1/2 Tael), cf. Wenchao-572 (for original type), SHI-19. By all indications a very rare issue, missing from much of the standard literature, though the existence of the same design in 1/2 Tael weight is well known (cf. Kann-B35). Portraying the Chinese symbol for longevity flanked by double dragons, the design is particularly appealing. For reference, we note that a similarly graded piece recently brought $24,000 in October.
