Republic Yuan Shih-kai "Military Issue" Dollar Year 3 (1914) AU58 NGC, cf. KM-Y329 (for original issue), L&M-63 (same). Military/Warlord Issue. A cruder imitation of the original 1914 Yuan Shih-kai Dollar, likely produced in the early 1930s by the Chinese Communist party, and a rarer type that only occasionally appears on auction as compared to the more common original strikings. Light friction and highpoint rub indicate only brief circulation, while the presence of finer features, such as Yuan Shih-kai's hair strands, reveal an impressive degree of preservation for this conditionally challenging type.
