A definitively sharp and appealing rendition of this popular commemorative that would have provoked outrage at the time of its issuance for Yuan Shih-kai's renewal of the Empire. Awash with a prominent antique tone and watery finish that appear to confirm its stemming from an old collection, the coin on the whole possesses a strong visual allure that seems to exceed its technical grade. Despite minor surface handling that bounds the designation, die polish lines are still visible across the surfaces.
