KINGS OF MACEDON. Philip II, 359-336 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 14.35 g, 9 h), Pella, struck under Antipater, Polyperchon, or Kassander, circa 323/2-316/5. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ Young jockey, holding palm frond in his right hand and reins in his left, riding horse to right; below horse, serpent; Boiotian shield. Le Rider 532 (D282/R438). Lightly toned and of lovely style. Very fine.
