KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 15 mm, 2.00 g, 6 h), uncertain eastern mint, imitating Babylon. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, anchor. Cf. Price 3442 and SC 70 (for prototype). A lovely contemporary imitation. Some deposits and the reverse somewhat double struck, otherwise, very fine.
