LYDIA. Uncertain. 4th century BC. Tetartemorion (Silver, 5 mm, 0.14 g, 6 h). Female head to right; behind, uncertain symbol. Rev. 𐤣𐤪𐤩𐤯/𐤠𐤪𐤬/𐤩𐤠 (?) ('mlt/amo/mad' in Lydian) within square incuse. SNG Kayhan 1599-1600 var. (both with slightly differing legends). Extremely rare and unusual. Minor die break on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
SNG Kayhan attemps a reading of the reverse of this very unusual issue in Greek, but the script is almost certainly Lydian. However, it should be emphasized that the reading proposed here is just a suggestion, especially since the examples in the Kayhan collection show somewhat different legends.
