CARIA. Antioch ad Maeandrum. Circa 90/85-65/60 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 15.94 g, 1 h), Meleagros, magistrate. Laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. AN/TIO/XE/ΩN - ME/ΛE/AΓ/ΟΣ Eagle standing left on thunderbolt with closed wings; all within maeander pattern. Thonemann Group B, 7 (-/R18). Extremely rare, and struck from a hitherto unattested and particularly attractive obverse die. Very fine.
