BAKTRIA, Greco-Baktrian Kingdom. Eukratides I, circa 170-145 BC. Obol (Silver, 10 mm, 0.43 g, 11 h), Baktra or an uncertain mint in the Paropamisadai or Gandhara, circa 162-145. Diademed and draped bust of Eukratides I to right, wearing crested Macedonian helmet adorned with bull's horn and ear. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΕΥΚΡΑΤΙΔΟΥ Youthful Herakles, nude, standing facing, crowning himself with a wreath with his right hand and holding club and lion skin his left. Bopearachchi 3. HGC 12, 140. MIG 166. Darkly toned. Minor edge chipping, otherwise, good very fine.
