Phoenicia, Sidon. Trajan. A.D. 98-117. AE 24 (23.5 mm, 9.66 g, 12 h). Dated CY 227 = A.D. 117. Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Trajan right, seen from behind / ΣΙΔΩΝΟΣ ΘΕΑΣ, ΖΚΣ, "The Rape of Europa" - Europa facing, seated "sidesaddle" on bull charging right; her veil blows out above and behind her head. RPC III, 3867; Rouvier 1472; BMC 217. Good Fine, brown toning with attractive green highlights.
