CARIA. Knidos. Circa 500-490 BC. Drachm (Silver, 16 mm, 5.80 g, 6 h). Forepart of lion to right, with open jaws and outstretched right paw. Rev. Diademed head of Aphrodite to right; the neck truncation in the form of a pearl necklace. Cahn 46 (V25/R37). SNG Keckman I, 114 (same dies). A rare early variety; toned and of a vigorous local style. Some uncleaned deposits, otherwise, good very fine.
