LUCANIA. Metapontum. Circa 340-330 BC. Nomos or Didrachm (Silver, 20 mm, 7.94 g, 12 h). ΛEYKI-ΠΠOΣ Helmeted head of Leukippos to right; behind, hound seated left, forepaw raised; below neck truncation, [Σ]. Rev. META Barley ear of seven grains, leaf to right; above leaf, dove to right; A[MI] below leaf; in the left field, graffito of ΦPY. HN III 1576. Johnson Class B, 20. Scrape on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
