LUCANIA. Metapontion. Circa 300-250 BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 14 mm, 2.38 g, 1 h). Draped bust of the DIoskouroi to right, each wearing laureate pilos . Rev. ME-TA Three barley-corns forming a triskeles; below, an eight-rayed star. HN III 1676. Johnston Bronze 41. Tan patina. A few scattered deposits, otherwise, very fine.
From the stock of an old Swiss dealer assembled mainly in the 1960s-1970s, accompanied by its original Bank Leu ticket of the early 1960s.
