LUCANIA. Thourioi. Circa 443-400 BC. Stater (Silver, 19 mm, 7.57 g, 12 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing an Attic helmet ornamented with an olive branch. Rev. [Θ]ΟΥΡΙΩΝ Bull butting to right; in exergue, fish to right. HN III 1775. SNG ANS 900-14. Attractively toned, nicely centered and of good style. Light porosity and old scrapes under tone, otherwise, very fine.
From the stock of an old Swiss dealer assembled mainly in the 1960s-1970s, sold together with an Original Leu ticket of the 1960s numbered W441.
