GALATIA. Koinon of Galatia. Trajan, 98-117. (Bronze, 25 mm, 11.25 g, 12 h), struck under the magistrate T. Pomponius Bassus. AYT NEP TRAIAN-ΟΣ ΚΑΙΣΑΡ ΣΕΒ Laureate head of Trajan to right. Rev. ΚΟΙΝΟΝ ΓΑΛΑΤΙΑΣ ΕΠI ΒΑΣΣΟΥ Mên standing left, wearing chiton, cloak and oriental tiara, crescent on shoulder, holding patera in his extended right hand and apple in his left. RPC III 2897. SNG BN 2416 = Stumpf pl. XVI, 1 = Waddington 6600 (same dies). Green patina. Light deposits, pit on obverse edge at 7 h, otherwise, very fine.
