Matthew Asen Cantacuzene, 1353-1357. Half Basilikon (Silver, 15 mm, 0.47 g, 12 h), Adrianopole (?), c. 1352. St. Michael on left, within city walls, holding scepter in right hand and sword in left, being blessed by St. John the Baptist on right, barefoot and wearing sheepskin, standing left; between them, monogram. Rev. KTKΣИ-ΛCΝ Matthew standing facing, holding cruciform scepter in right hand; star in left field. DOC -, but cf. pp. 190-1. S.
