SWEDEN. temp. Olof Skötkonung (the Treasurer). 995–1022. AR Penny (20.5mm, 2.24 g, 7h). Imitating a Long cross type of Æthelred II of England. Sigtuna mint. Struck circa 1000/5-1020. Draped bust left; pellet behind neck / Voided long cross with triple-crescent ends and pellet at center. SMH Period II, 216 = Malmer chain 142, dies 223/1222. Toned, deposits, broken and repaired, cleaning marks. VF. Rare.
