Tiberius. As Caesar, AD 4-14. Æ Semis (19.5mm, 4.66 g, 4h). Lugdunum (Lyon) mint. Struck under Augustus, AD 13-14. TI CAESAR AVGVST F IMPERAT VII, laureate head of Tiberius right / ROM ET AVG in exergue, the Great Altar of Lugdunum: altar enclosure; panels decorated with corona civica flanked by figures holding laurel branches; decoration along roofline; altar flanked by columns surmounted by statues of Victory standing vis-à-vis, each holding palm frond in left hand over left shoulder and wreath in right hand. RIC I 246 (Augustus); Lyon 115 (Augustus); BMCRE 588 (Augustus); BN 1805-17 (Augustus). Dark brown patina, earthen encrustation, some cleaning scratches. Near VF.
